Research FocusRountos has worked on a number of domestic and international research projects examining the effects of anthropogenic influences on coastal marine resources. In 2007, Rountos was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to conduct independent research on the effects of fish farming in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. He was previously the Lead Fisheries Scientist for the Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program where his research focused on the importance of seagrass habitat to fish and invertebrate populations, as well as the impacts of harmful algal blooms on fish.
Rountos' research is applied in nature and aims to inform ecosystem-based management in coastal ecosystems and sustainable seafood production. |
