2008-2020: Rountos volunteers annually, each Winter, at the Bay Scallop Bowl, a regional high school competition of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) held in New York. you.stonybrook.edu/bayscallopbowl/
2016-2019: Rountos volunteers annually, each Fall, at the Patchogue River Clean Up.
2011-2016: Rountos worked in various capacities with the Shinnecock Bay Restoration Program (ShiRP) in Southampton, NY. ShiRP is an initiative led by the scientists of the Institute for Ocean Conservation Science at Stony Brook University. The program aims to restore and conserve the ecosystems and resources in Shinnecock Bay. ShiRP organizes and hosts various restoration activities each year to encourage environmental awareness in our community. http://www.shinnecockbay.org/
2007-2008: While living in Greece for his Fulbright Fellowship, Rountos developed environmental education initiatives for students in various communities as well as local fishermen in port-cities throughout the country. www.fulbright.gr/alumni/us-alumni/alumni-speak/457-konstantine-john-rountos
